Fitness/Wellness

Both locations are equipped with state-of-the-art Wellness Centers. It's a great place for young (13 and older) and young-at-heart to continue on the path to a healthy lifestyle. The Wellness Centers offer a variety of cardiovascular equipment each with their own television, a STRIVE strength circuit, Cybex and Matrix free weights and audio system. Both centers have an inviting atmosphere, good spacing, and great lighting.

  • Wellness Center Orientations
    • Introduction to each piece in the STRIVE circuit, review our cardio sign-in system, review the guidelines for cleaning equipment, and answer any questions!
  • Begin to Be Fit
    • This program focuses on the cardiovascular basics, proper stretching techniques, and using strength training equipment at your own pace. You will meet with a fitness coach for about an hour, one-on-one session to go over all the basics. In this hour, you will learn the importance of both cardiovascular and strength training as well as which fitness classes would be best for you. Your fitness coach will also help set your workout parameters such as target heart rate and target weight ranges. This program will be in the Personal Fitness Program (PFP/Healthy Beginnings) Room to create a comfortable environment as you become familiar with the equipment. After you gain confidence, you can slowly transition to the Wellness Center or Fitness Classes.

Program Details

The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, developing healthy habits they'll carry with them throughout their lives, and building positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork. Participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

The Y offers many activities for children to learn about games as well as having fun in a team or individual atmosphere. Some of the sports offered are flag football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, tae kwon do, swimming, baseball, gymnastics, stunt and cheer, dodge ball, kickball, and many more. It doesn't matter whether you want to learn a new sport or continuing playing the ones you love, the Y has something for everyone!
