YMCA Camp Alexander
Camp is a great place to make lasting memories. With activities based on weekly themes, your child will grow stronger, stay active and connect with friends, all while building the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Where is camp?
Camp is nestled in on a private peninsula on Nepco Lake. Among the 33 acres of beautiful forestry, the camp includes 2 lodges, 5 cabins, a swim area, kayaking and a full-size basketball court.

2023 YMCA Camp Alexander registration is open NOW! Early bird rates are available through April 30th. To register, stop in and visit our Member Services team at the front desk or call us at 715.818.9622. Registration forms and deposits are required at the time of sign-up.
Membership & Camp For All
No one is turned away from YMCA Camp Alexander for an inability to pay. Our Membership for All – financial assistance program ensures that funding is available so every child can enjoy camp. Camp Weeks 2023
WEEK 1: June 5-9 | OUTDOOR EXPLORERS
Campers will explore and develop an appreciation for the natural world around them. Campers will experience different outdoor activities such as survival skills, nature scavenger hunts and identify plants and trees. Add in nature hikes and shelter-building, and you have the recipe for a memorable week!
WEEK 2: June 12-16 | Creepy, Crawly Critters*
Calling all creepy-crawlers! Lets discover and learn what makes creepy-crawlers so fascinating! We’ll search for a variety of bugs, worms, and critters.
WEEK 3: June 19-23 | ALL BALLS SPORTS*
For sports enthusiasts of all levels and ages – take part in fun and active all ball games. From Gaga Ball, Dodgeball, Flag Football, Basketball, Pickleball, Kickball, Soccer and a variety of camp style games.
WEEK 4: June 26-30 | FUN & FITNESS*
Campers will learn about being healthy with a mixture of games, routines, and educational exercises. Your child will learn a new appreciation for physical activity, stronger muscles and heart!
WEEK 5: July 3, 5-7 | Stars & Stripes
Celebrate the 4th of July with Stars and Stripes! We have a week full of patriotic activities to do including themed snacks, crafts and everything Red, White & Blue
WEEK 6: July 10-14 | Wet, Wacky, Wild Water Week*
Water week is a favorite of summer camp and this year is no different. We will beat the heat with swimming, water games & wild fun!
WEEK 7: July 17-21 | RESIDENT WEEK
A genuine Camp Alexander classic! Join us for a week of action-packed adventure! Campers will enjoy swimming, crafts, learning outdoor survival skills, campfires, songs, skits and much more! They will sleep comfortably in our plush cabins with their fellow campers. Get ready to make lasting friendships while enjoying the woods, water and tranquility at YMCA Camp Alexander!
WEEK 8: July 22-28 | GETTING DOWN & DIRTY*
Simply put – it’s fun to get dirty! From mud pies to mud baths and messy art play, campers will have the freedom to participate in fun & messy activities. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
WEEK 9: July 31-Aug 4 | HOOKED ON FISHING*
Lets learn fishing techniques, safety, and of course, FISHING! We will fish by shore in various locations, and fishing poles will be provided. If bringing your own pole, be sure to label it. Start your angling career at Camp Alexander!
WEEK 10: Aug 7-11 | EPIC NERF WARS
Calling all Nerf fans – An epic battle is about to begin at Camp Alexander. This will be a fun, safe and engaging week for your son or daughter, like capture the flag, attack and defend, hide and seek. All Nerf toys and accessories will be provided.
WEEK 11: Aug 14-18 | FUN WITH FOOD*
Eating food in a cheerful spirit will encourage campers to appreciate and finish their food. Food can be food, with activities such as apple bobbing, donuts on a loop and Boy Scout dinners. Campers will have lots of fun preparing a wide range of meals on their own.
WEEK 12: Aug 21-25 | REPEAT WEEK! – THE BEST OF THE BEST
The conclusion of the summer is not over…. yet! Let’s finish the summer with the “best of the best” by repeating all the activities that were beloved during the summer at Camp Alexander. This will be an amazing week that will cap the end of the 2023 summer camp season.

TEEN LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Teens who have an interest in learning leadership skills and using those skills with younger campers are encouraged to be a Junior Counselor (JC) at camp. JC’s have a brief training and orientation to be able to assist counselors with younger campers. JC’s will be given age-appropriate challenges that will build their skills, confidence and capacity for working with people of all ages. This program can be applied towards community service hours for high school graduation.
- Age 15-17
- Must have at least 2yrs camper experience
- Commit to at least 2-Day Camp weeks
Must be pre-interviewed and accepted into the program by the Camp Director. Not everyone is accepted into the program.
