I achieved my BS in Health and Wellness Promotion from UW- Stevens Point and began personal training in 2011. Personal training has been something I have always enjoyed doing as it provides me the opportunity to work with many demographics. A few examples include teenagers keeping in shape for sports, cancer survivors (during and after treatment), mothers who want to safely stay fit during and after pregnancy, retirees who want to get active or stay active for hobbies they enjoy, and individuals recovering from medical conditions that require customized workouts.  With all of the different demographics I have had experience with, the common denominator is that we focus on finding a routine that best fits your goals. Fitness has been a passion of mine from a young age, and continuously evolves.  As a mom of four fitness looks completely different for me today than ten years ago; now I find myself striving for energy and functionality so I can keep up with my family and have fun while doing it!

I’ve been actively part of the Y for a number of years now, teaching group fitness classes, active in wellness and of course personal training. I obtained my B.S. in Human Development and Psychology from UW-Green Bay where I played Division 1 volleyball for 2 years. I am continually learning about the human body and keeping up on fitness trends & research. What I love most about working with people is being able to be part of their overall wellness journey; being actively part of you reaching your goals is a privilege and not something I take lightly. I believe taking care of our physical bodies is a key piece of what contributes to our overall wellness, which includes our emotional and social wellbeing. During my free time I enjoy getting outside to hike with my husband, children, and dogs!

I have been active most of my life, from competitive figure skating, dancing, and then joining the Navy! Once my contract was completed with the Navy, I decided I wanted to combine my love of fitness and helping others. As someone with experience using fitness as a way to cope with mental and physical obstacles, I wanted to share my knowledge and experience with others, and the Y has been a great fit! I’ve had the privilege of working with many demographics, from youth wanting to increase strength and agility for sports, adults new to exercise and looking to gain strength and cardio endurance, to those recovering from strokes wanting to regain strength and mobility.

Hi! I have been with the Y since fall of 2017, instructing group fitness classes, wellness coaching and personal training. I’ve been married to my husband Malcolm for over 30 years, have 3 great kids and fantastic pets. I love the great outdoors, biking, walking and hiking. I appreciate having the opportunity to support and encourage people along their fitness journey. It inspires me to see not only the physical growth of my people, but their emotional growth & self confidence increase. I work with people of all ages and with a variety of goals, from agility and speed, increased balance and flexibility, range of motion, to those recovering from strokes and wanting to find their strength in their new normal. I’m inspired everyday from those I have the privilege of working with.
