We’re about youth development: ensuring that the 9 million children and teens in our programs reach their full potential by helping them grow— physically, mentally and socially— from young children into engaged, active members of their communities.

HEALTHY LIVING

Being healthy means more than simply being physically active. It’s about maintaining a balanced spirit, mind and body. The Y is a place where you can work toward that balance by challenging yourself to learn a new skill or hobby, fostering connections with friends through our lifelong learning programs, or bringing your loved ones closer together through our many family-centered activities.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

To bring about meaningful change, individuals need ongoing encouragement and tools. We’re here day-in and day-out to provide the resources our communities need to address the most pressing social issues: child welfare, education, employment, housing and substance abuse. We work to make sure every child, family and community has what they need to achieve their best.

*NEW Session starts April 10-May28.  Splash your way into shape with an invigorating low-impact aquatic exercise.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Swimming is a life skill as well as great exercise and a challenging sport.  SWC YMCA offers private swim lessons that allow the participant to work at a personalized level to achieve swim goals.  Private swim lessons are a good way to help swimmers focus on a particular skill or to help overcome a fear of the water, so everyone can safely enjoy the aquatic environment.  Contact Doug Wickersham at wickersham@swcymca.org  for more information.

FAMILY SPLASH NIGHTS | FRIDAYS | 5:30 – 8:45pm
Today’s fast-paced world provides little opportunity for families to spend quality time together. Do something fun and affordable by participating in Family Splash Nights! Family time at the Y gives you the opportunity to deepen relationships, develop new skills and interests, improve your health and well-being, and connect to your community. Meet new families and have a great time with your children.

HEALTHY LIVING Achieving and maintaining wellness is a task that’s never finished. That’s why a healthy lifestyle is so important. We’re here to help you regardless of your starting point with a variety of classes and supports to keep you healthy in spirit, mind and body!

FITNESS ORIENTATION  If you are new to the Y or just would like a refresher on our equipment….we know that the more you know about the Y, the more you will enjoy your exercise.  The Y offers a complimentary fitness orientation with our qualified healthy lifestyles staff for all members. This is an introduction to our cardiovascular and strength training equipment. Appointments can be scheduled at the Member Services desk. 

PERSONAL TRAINING  Sometimes we need the advice of an expert, or the personal attention that comes with a trainer/coach. One-on-one instruction with a nationally certified personal trainer will offer personal training to help you set and meet your specific goals.

 GYMNASTICS

YOUTH GYMNASTICS | AGES 2 – 9 | TUESDAYS | WISCONSIN RAPIDS
SWC YMCA and the Wisconsin Rapids Park & Rec Department have combined efforts to offer tumbling classes for youth. The program is led by an enthusiastic instructor who keeps the kids excited and motivated to learn new skills each week.

GYMNASTICS PROGRAMS | PORT EDWARDS 

The Y offers classes for ages 1 through the teens, from beginners to competitive team.  Participants enjoy a facility which, in addition to the standard required equipment, features a Bungee Bouncer, spring floor, tumble track, and a wide range of preschool specific soft equipment.

FREE – SWIM TEAM – NO OBLIGATION PRESEASON & TRAINING CLINIC   TUESDAY OCTOBER 3 | 4:00-5:30PM

Free – Kids will get in the pool and coaches will discover each new simmers strokes and overall swimming abilities.  See what a “typical swim practice” involves.  Coach Doug will be available during this time for any questions.  SWIM TEAM starts October 10th and runs through April 2018.  COME DISCOVER SWIM TEAM!
