Y BASKETBALL MADNESS LEAGUE

This is a great time for your child to continue to use the skills they’ve learned in the fall and winter and carry them over into the Spring Y Basketball League. This will be a 7-week basketball program. Volunteer coaches are essential. No games during spring break. Each participant will receive a team T-Shirt. Rosters and game schedules are handed out at the first Saturday of the program.

Programs

FLOOR HOCKEY

This is a class-oriented program that meets two times per week in our three-week program sessions. Kids will be taught the very basic essentials elements of floor hockey; the correct way to hold your stick and to pass and shoot. Games will also be played in this 45 minute class and the
participants will be taught how to properly work together as team unit (learn the positions and proper spacing).

LITTLE HOOPERS BASKETBALL CLINIC

This coed program is specifically designed for the young basketball fan. Participants will learn the basic skills such as dribbling, shooting and passing with emphasis placed on social development and participation. Parents are encouraged to assist with station work.

HOOPERS BASKETALL CLINIC

This is a great choice when you are looking for fun basketball drills, passing drills, relays, shooting games for basketball beginners or anyone who enjoys the game of basketball. It will help players learn the basic fundamentals skills along with teaching the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.

ROOKIE BASKETBALL LEAGUE

This 8-week basketball League will put your child in the game with youth their age/skill level as
they learn sportsmanship, develop their skills and gain a sense of accomplishment, no matter
the outcome of the game. Through organized instruction by volunteer coaches and referees youth will enjoy play in non-competitive games.

ROOKIE FLAG FOOTBALL

A great introduction program to the game of football. Players will have fun learning basic skills, using a Nerf football, while learning sportsmanship & teamwork. Parents are encouraged to coach/assist as this is an instructional environment.

YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL

Games are fast pace and action packed. The program’s emphasis is on throwing, running, and catching. Tremendous excitement and fun are apart of this program as kids play in a supportive and positive environment.

HOME SCHOOL GYM & SWIM

This program is for area home school families. There will be a gym and pool portion each day. Gym will consist of Physical Education style classes and the pool segment will consist of lessons and open swim time.

KICKBALL

Kids will develop characteristics for positive sportsmanship and teamwork. Everyone gets the same amount of playing time as every other player, with the emphasis being fun!

LITTLE ADVENTURERS

In this day and age kids (and some adults) are forgetting the fundamental skills that are being replaced with technology. This course is aimed at teaching basic directional skills and breaking the bond we all have with technology. Kids will learn the art of reading a map, reading a compass, following directions, and finding waypoints. Class will take place outside at Camp Alexander -YMCA location with some off-site travel. Kids will need to bring a comfortable pair of shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, good listening skills, and a great attitude. We will use compasses provided by the Y, if you have your own you are encouraged to bring it. Maximum of 20 adventurers.

INDOOR SOCCER

Kids can hone on their individual and team skill soccer skills inside in our gym during the months we cannot play on the outdoor field. This is action packed, fast paced class will have your youngster yearning to play this renowned sport.

MINI SOCCER SHARKS

This is a parent assisted age 3-6 class that meets two times per week. This an outstanding introduction to the sport of soccer as kids are introduced the rudimentary skills of dribbling, passing and trapping. We keep it fun and constructive.

SOCCER SHARKS

This program will allow each participant the opportunity to learn the basic skills and fundamentals of soccer. Each player can grow not only in the area of athleticism and individual soccer skills, but in developing ideas of the actual game of soccer itself such as teamwork, strategies and more.

TBALL

T-Ball is a great introduction to the game of baseball in a safe and healthy environment. The program focuses on teaching rules, sportsmanship and skills necessary to play. Parents are encouraged to participate alongside their child.

VOLLEYBALL

Participants will have fun learning the fundamentals of the game. This class will work on improving passing, setting, hitting, and serving the four basic skills everyone needs to know too be successful in the game of volleyball.

WACKY BOWLING

Bowling with foam bowling balls and sets of rainbow color pins open up a new spectrum of bowling activities in the gymnasium. This is perfect for kids to participate in nontraditional bowling games like-King of the hill, Scatter the pin bowling, Team war. Players will build self-confidence and self-esteem with participation in a team sport.
