Whether you are new to exercise or getting back to it, group exercise is a great way to get moving, make friends, and stay motivated. We have classes for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced.

The Y offers a large variety of group exercise classes each week! All group exercise classes are included in a Y membership. Find the one that works for you, keeps you motivated and makes exercise fun!

Group Fitness Classes are FREE as a member benefit, and are available first come, first serve. Non-Members can now also attend if they purchased a day pass. There’s no need to pre-register, simply show up, and find a spot.

TRX and cycling classes require a card picked-up at the front desk, as equipment and space is limited.

Active Older Adults

Similar to SilverSneakers, Active Older Adult is designed for those looking for a great workout, and camaraderie.  The class is joint friendly and appropriate for individuals who exercise regularly, as well as those new to exercise or who may not have excercised in years.  The exercises in this class are designed to improve your strength, flexibility, balance and coordination.

Cycling

This class offers all the challenges of cycling on the open road with speed, climbs and even off the saddle! The workout is set to great music with various motivating drills throughout the class. Cycling is an excellent workout for your lower half, which is also complemented by exercising your heart.

Club Dance

Do you love to move to music, burn calories and get that heart pumping all at the same time?  Look no further, as Dance it Off provides all three.  The choreography can be both high and low-impact, and modifications are provided throughout the class, so you’re able to move and groove in a way that your body will appreciate.  Rediscover your love of dance and have fun!

Low-Impact Cardio

This class is designed to foccus mainly on your muscular strength in order to create the toned physique that you are looking for. It will offer many exercises involving body weight, dumbells, bands and steps, which can be complimented by cardio and abdominal work. The instructors try to keep the variety and interest level high while having fun and working hard at the same time. If you are looking to tone your body’s physique, and challenge your heart, then this class is for you!

Mobility Monday

If you’re fitness goals include flexibility, balance, pliability, and strength, then Mobility Monday may be just what you need. In this class you will be taken through functional movements that will optimize performance. This is done by increasing range of motion within your joints and surrounding muscles. Mobility training also aids in injury prevention, benefits posture, and can increase strength and power.

SilverSneakers

Increase muscle strength and range of movement, and improve activities for daily living.  You’ll have a chair for seated exercises and standing support. Your instructor can modify the exercises for your fitness level.

TONE IT UP

This class is designed to focus on your muscular strength, in order to create the toned physique that you are looking for. Total Body Blast

Just like the name says, we’re going to blast the entire body, with the use of compound movements, and excercises that can be done with either low intecsities. Using a variety of weights, as well as

Tabata

If you’re looking for a class that is both fun, and exciting, this is it! Tabata is another version of Interval Training, with :20 of work, followed by :10 rest at 8 rounds. Each set lasts 4 minutes, and total class time is 30 minutes. The key to this class is incorporating many areas of the body, so you’re not overtaxing one area, but rather achieving a balanced workout.

Yoga Flow

Yoga Flow is inspired by Vinyasa, which synchronizes movement with breath, flowing from one move to the next. This class will help you build strength, increase flexibility, and find focus through deep breathing. This class is ideal for those experienced with yoga and anyone new to this exercise and interested in its benefits. Please bring Yoga mat and props if you have them.

Family Yoga – Registration Required

Fun and flexibility for the whole family! We will meet on the sports field (weather permitting, or in studio A ) and work through foundational yoga poses and sequences that will build a connection between yourself and your family.

Party Ride – Registration Required

More than ‘just a cycling class’. The best workouts are those that are fun, challenging and leave you feeling stronger and more empowered than when you walked in. Come ride with us in your bright colors and party attitude, prepare to sweat it out, jam it out and have an absolute blast during your workout.

Summer Solstice: 108 Sun Salutations – Registration Required

The summer solstice represents a time of nurishment and patience. The number 108 is significant throughout the world and is considered sacred in yoga. Flow through 108 series of movements called sun salutations. This is a time to celebrate the energy from the sun and trust that your intentions planted in spring will take growth. This is a paid class that is held at Camp Alexander, don’t forget to register in advance.

Yoga at Camp – Registration Required

Take your yoga experiance outdoors at Camp Alexander. This vinyasa flow class will connect you to your breath and movements while being immerses in nature. Expect sun salutations, warrior sequencing, balance and time to reflect and relax in deeper seated poses. Mats available for use. This is a paid class that is held at Camp Alexander, don’t forget to register in advance.

Wellness Center

Both locations are equipped with state-of-the-art Wellness Centers. It’s a great place for young (11 and older) and young-at-heart to begin practicing a healthy lifestyle. Our Wellness Centers are equipped with the latest cardiovascular and strength training equipment to meet your fitness goals. Both Wellness Centers have an inviting atmosphere, are spaced appropriately and have good lighting.

Orientation 

The Y offers a complimentary fitness orientation with our qualified, wellness staff for new members or for those members looking for a refresher on our equipment. This is an introduction to our cardio and strength training equipment to teach you how to use the equipment correctly and safely. Appointments can be scheduled at the Member Services desk.

Age 15+: Orientation RECOMMENDED

Age 11-14: Orientation REQUIRED

  • Once a Youth Orientation is complete, a note confirming completion will be put into the youth’s account.
  • All youth, 11-12 yrs, are required to have an adult with them at all times in the Wellness Center.

guidelines

To create a welcoming and healthy family-friendly environment for all we have a few rules for our facility.

Facility: (exceptions for the pool and locker room)

  • Please bring a change of shoes, especially during inclement weather, to avoid excess sand, salt, and water that can wear on equipment
  • Closed toed and soft sole shoes are required in the wellness center and gym
  • Please avoid wearing jeans, as buckles, rivets and zippers can damage equipment
  • Clothing with offensive language and/or graphics are prohibited
  • Sandals or flip-flops are not allowed, for safety reasons
  • The YMCA reserves the right to define inappropriate/offensive attire
