YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

At the Y, we don’t just teach swimming lessons or coach soccer. We’re about youth development: ensuring that the 9 million children and teens in our programs reach their full potential by helping them grow— physically, mentally and socially— from young children into engaged, active members of their communities.

HEALTHY LIVING

Being healthy means more than simply being physically active. It’s about maintaining a balanced spirit, mind and body. The Y is a place where you can work toward that balance by challenging yourself to learn a new skill or hobby, fostering connections with friends through our lifelong learning programs, or bringing your loved ones closer together through our many family-centered activities.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

To bring about meaningful change, individuals need ongoing encouragement and tools. We’re here day-in and day-out to provide the resources our communities need to address the most pressing social issues: child welfare, education, employment, housing and substance abuse. We work to make sure every child, family and community has what they need to achieve their best.

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
Swimming is a life skill as well as great exercise and a challenging sport.  SWC YMCA offers private swim lessons that allow the participant to work at a personalized level to achieve swim goals.  Private swim lessons are a good way to help swimmers focus on a particular skill or to help overcome a fear of the water, so everyone can safely enjoy the aquatic environment.  Contact Andrea Burris at 715.818.6031 or burris@swcymca.org for more information.

FAMILY SPLASH NIGHTS | FRIDAYS | 5:30 – 8:45pm
Today’s fast-paced world provides little opportunity for families to spend quality time together. Do something fun and affordable by participating in Family Splash Nights! Family time at the Y gives you the opportunity to deepen relationships, develop new skills and interests, improve your health and well-being, and connect to your community. Meet new families and have a great time with your children.

  FITNESS & WELLNESS

HEALTHY HOLIDAY CHALLENGE
Our efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle can be challenged during the holiday season – so here are some tips for you to maintain a healthy balance through the weeks ahead.
• Weigh yourself this week (before the feast) and write it down.
• Make good choices-wine and dine in moderation the next 6 weeks.
• Work at finding time for 150 minutes of physical activity weekly.
• Then, weigh yourself the first week of the new year.
• Challenge yourself to lose or maintain your current weight.
• Challenge someone else to do it with you, so you have an accountability partner.
Your reward for your motivation is that you’ll feel great and start 2017 feeling better than ever.
